Business Impact Assessment (BIA) / Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

Hurricane Katrina devastated many businesses in her path, less than 30% were able to start back up and get business restored within 3 days.

A Business Impact Assessment (BIA) outlines and prioritizes an organization’s critical business processes, analyzes the maximum tolerable downtime and resulting impact (financial and other) on the business, and assists in developing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. The BIA process focuses on infringement to business functions rather than security.

Dynamic’s Business Impact Assessment will identify business processes associated with information systems to determine their critical role to the organization’s revenue stream, and document the impact associated with possible outages and downtime. This will assist senior management in allocating resources cost-effectively to balance operational continuity with business needs. We can also help develop continuity and recovery plans based on our findings.

How much does each minute of complete downtime cost your organization? This question can be tricky to answer if you have never done the assessment.

This assessment does require interaction from a wide variety of resources at the location and will require both on and off site work.
